What:
The Sheriff’s M.A.I.T. Team have arrested two individuals in connection to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash that occurred in March 2014. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after he was struck by one vehicle and then run over by a second.
When:
The crash occurred at about 12:44 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Warrants for the two drivers were issued on August 12, 2014. The two subjects turned themselves in to the Pinellas County Jail on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.
Where:
The crash occurred at the 4900 block of Gulf Boulevard in St. Pete Beach. The two subjects turned themselves in to the Pinellas County Jail located at 14400 49th Street North in Clearwater.
Why/How:
The Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) have arrested two individuals in connection to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash that occurred in March 2014.
According to investigators, on March 22, 2014 at approximately 12:44 a.m., 17-year-old Patrick McClean was crossing Gulf Boulevard when he was struck by a 2011 Hyundai driven by 50-year-old Patsy Harris in the southbound lanes. McLean was then run over by another vehicle, a 2008 Volkswagon being driven by 27-year-old Sean Daniel.
McClean was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to deputies, both drivers showed signs of impairment at the time of the crash. Deputies continued their investigation and arrest warrants were issued for both Harris and Daniel on Tuesday, August 12, 2014.
Harris and Daniel turned themselves in to the Pinellas County Jail in the morning hours of Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Harris has been charged with one count of DUI Manslaughter and has a $100,000 bond. Daniel has been charged with One Count of DUI Manslaughter and One Count Driving While License Suspended or Revoked and has a $100,500 bond. Both remain in the Pinellas County Jail at this time.
The investigation continues.
